LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Veteran comedian George Wallace has told a Nevada jury it felt like a bear trap clamped his leg when he injured his Achilles tendon during a stand-up comedy show at a Las Vegas Strip resort.
The 61-year-old comedian returned to the witness stand Friday in a civil negligence lawsuit seeking millions of dollars from the Bellagio resort.
Wallace told jurors he never stopped his performance despite becoming entangled in wiring during the private show for a corporate audience in December 2007.
Bellagio attorneys say Wallace voluntarily assumed the risk of injury, had a pre-existing injury and was careless onstage.
Wallace followed the show at the Bellagio with a performance at his regular 10 p.m. show at the Flamingo, but he stayed seated onstage in a swivel chair.
