Highlights of October 28 Kelowna council meeting

Grant in aid
Council issued a grant to Rochelle Hoffmann to help pay for her travel expenses to the All Ireland Championships, where she will compete in Irish dance.

Utility billing
Council approved a 24-month extension to the City’s current utility billing provider Corix Utilities Inc in order to provide staff with time to determine how utility billing will be handled in the future. Council also approved bi-monthly utility billing, effective April 2014.

Centre of Gravity
Council received for information a report on the 2013 Centre of Gravity Festival and updates on the 2014 event, including strategies to improve the festival and address concerns of security, parking, safety and waste management moving forward. Staff will report back to Council with final details.
