Back to Toronto: Nets force Game 7 with 97-83 win against Raptors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Deron Williams scored 23 points as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Toronto Raptors 97-83 Friday to stave off elimination and force Game 7.

Joe Johnson had 17 points while Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce chipped in with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with 28 points, but he had little offensive help from his teammates.

The Raptors never led as Brooklyn cruised to a 26-point advantage and only had to hang on from there.

The Nets took early control of the game to finish the first quarter ahead of Toronto by 15 points and a 60-41 lead at halftime.

The first-round series ends Sunday in Toronto.
