Coroners service wants help identifying mystery man found dead near Whistler

WHISTLER, B.C. – The BC Coroners Service is trying to solve the mystery of an unidentified man whose body was found in a heavily wooded area about eight kilometres north of Whistler.

He is believed to have been between 50 and 65 years old and had long grey hair tied back with a scrunchie when he was discovered near a mountain trail last Nov. 13, the day he bought food in the town at Nesters Market.

His body was within 200 metres of Highway 99, near the midpoint of Green Lake.

The coroners service says the man with a medium build was wearing a dark blue fleece hoodie with the word navy emblazoned on the chest in bright yellow lettering.

He was also wearing black Sportec jogging pants and size 11 Sorel winter boots.

Bifocal glasses and a dark backpack with a yellow Academy of Learning logo were recovered among his belongings.
