RCMP investigating a possible drowning in Prince George area lake

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – RCMP are investigating what they are calling a “possible drowning” after a vehicle went into a lake west of Prince George.

Officers say police responded to distress calls at Kwitzil Lake early this morning and believe that two people could have been in a vehicle that went into the waters.

Police say that the area was the site of a large party throughout the night.

Officers say Prince George Search and Rescue have attended the area and have located a vehicle in the lake.

An RCMP recovery team is currently en route to the scene and is expected to arrive this afternoon.
