Two fishermen busted for catching too many fish on B.C. Interior lake

Fishing with too many lines and too many hooks on each line netted fines of more than $3,000 for two fishermen on Big Bar Lake in the Cariboo region.

The B.C. Conservation Officer service was tipped off about the overfishing on the lake yesterday morning, Dec. 4, according to a release posted to Facebook.

Along with too many lines and hooks, they were catching and keeping too many trout, the conservation service says. Only five can be kept each day.

Not only were they issued fines, but the fish and fishing gear were also seized.
