Mounties ‘immediately’ begin homicide probe after body found in Ashcroft home

ASHCROFT, B.C. – One person is dead and another is in custody following a homicide in the village of Ashcroft, B.C.

RCMP say they were called to a home in the community, 90 kilometres west of Kamloops, at about 9:30 Monday morning.

Const. Kris Clark says the officers who found the body immediately began a homicide investigation.

He says a person of interest is in police custody but no charges have been laid.

Investigators do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Clark says the name of the victim is not being released until relatives have been notified.
