Man stabbed in eye at B.C. nightclub now facing domestic assault charges
KAMLOOPS, B.C. – A 29-year-old Kamloops, B.C., man who suffered a serious brain injury when he was stabbed in the eye with a pool cue has returned to court — this time facing his own charges related to domestic assault allegations.
Abdulaziz Alhedaib (ABDOO’-la-zeez ALLEY’-dab) appeared briefly in provincial court Monday.
According to court documents, he has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Alhedaib was the victim of an attack at a nightclub in November 2012 when an acquaintance jabbed a pool cue in his eye.
He was celebrating his birthday with friends on the night doctors say he nearly lost his life.
Yousef Almotairi (YOO’-suf AL-motaree) was found guilty last July of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon and deported to Saudi Arabia.
