Deadmau5 selling his Nyan Cat-themed Ferrari for $380,000

TORONTO – Electronic music artist Deadmau5 is selling his tricked out Ferrari — for nearly $400,000.

The Toronto-based producer has taken to sites including Craiglist and Twitter to advertise the colourful convertible Ferrari 458 Spider (F1 Edition) named “Purrari” on the licence plate.

The sports car is decorated in the theme of Nyan Cat, a YouTube video and Internet meme of a cartoon cat with a Pop-Tart body and a rainbow trail flying through space to the tune of a Japanese pop song.

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, says he’s asking $380,000 or best offer.

“Anything over 380 goes to charity, so get those bids in! (Toronto Humane Society),” says the Craiglist posting. “Comes with Ipod full of nyancat songs. AND we will personally invite the buyer to Toronto to come and film a ‘farewell purrari’ coffee run with me.”

Zimmerman says the car has about 10,000 kilometres on it, “purrs like a nyancat and can be fully factory restored (wrap removed).”

He also says he’ll ship the car anywhere in North America.
