Police lay charges in case where homeless woman was severely burned
PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police in northern Saskatchewan say they have arrested a man in a case where a homeless woman was so badly burned that she had to have both legs amputated.
The woman remains in hospital as a result of injuries suffered in the attack, which happened in downtown Prince Albert on June 1.
Police in Prince Albert say a 29-year-old resident of Prince Albert was arrested Saturday evening and has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault.
The suspect is being held in custody until his first court appearance on Wednesday in Prince Albert provincial court.
His name was not released.
