ANCHORAGE, Alaska – A driver in a fatal Wasilla crash has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and manslaughter and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Anchorage television station KTVA reports 29-year-old Glen Hamilton III is charged in the March 27, 2018, crash that killed 75-year-old Donna Swanson and 77-year-old Edward Swanson of Big Lake.
Hamilton is represented by the Alaska Public Defender’s Office, which does not routinely comment on pending cases. The Palmer office did not immediately respond to an email request for comment.
Police say Hamilton was intoxicated and speeding when he ran a red light on the Parks Highway and slammed into the Swansons’ car. Edward Swanson died at the scene and Donna Swanson died later.
Judge Kari Kristiansen on Monday set bail at $50,000.
