FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Authorities say a North Carolina teenager is charged with first-degree murder after the boy’s grandfather was killed with a hatchet.

Deputies were called to the home and found the body of 63-year-old Joseph Naulty who died after being wounded with a hatchet.

The boy was taken to a juvenile detention centre where he awaits a juvenile court hearing on the charge.
