NEW YORK, N.Y. – The new theatre season has only just begun but it’s already time to think about Tony Awards.

The American Theatre Wing announced Tuesday both the award-show date and the cutoff for eligibility to receive one of the statuettes. Productions must open before April 23 to be in the running. Nominations will be announced April 28.

The awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be handed out June 7 starting at 8 p.m. Eastern. The telecast will broadcast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

There was no announcement on who will be the show’s host.
