KAMLOOPS — Volunteers with the Kamloops Naturalist Club are getting ready for the annual spring cleanup of the Dewdrop Flats area.
This Sunday, May 12, volunteers will gather to remove garbage from the Dewdrop area from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is a collaboration between the club, the City of Kamloops and B.C. Parks., according to a post on the Naturalist Club's Facebook page.
Those who are interested in helping to clean up the area are encouraged to bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes and pack a lunch. Snacks, drinks and bags will be provided at no cost.
Last year, volunteers removed roughly 5,000 pounds of garbage which was significantly less than from pevious years, said the club's former vice-president Frank Ritcey.
For directions on how to get to the area visit the Kamloops Naturalist Club website here.
