Original stars to return to Broadway’s ‘Chicago’ in Nov. to mark record-setting performance

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Look closely and you’ll see some familiar faces at the Nov. 23 performance of “Chicago.”

Original stars Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth, James Naughton and Joel Grey will be making cameos that night to celebrate the show becoming the second longest-running show in Broadway history.

“Chicago” opened on Broadway in 1996 and will record 7,486 performances on Nov. 23, surpassing “Cats” and only lagging “The Phantom of the Opera” for the show with the longest Broadway run.

The musical is set in the 1920s. It’s a scathing satire of how show business and the media make celebrities out of criminals. It has Bob Fosse-inspired choreography, skimpy outfits and killer songs such as “All That Jazz” and “Cell Block Tango.”
