
Fire crews respond to small fire southwest of Sorrento
SORRENTO — A small wildfire has ignited in the Shuswap near Squilax Mountain.
B.C. Wildfire Service personnel responded to a 0.8 hectare wildfire approximately 5.5 kilometres southwest of Sorrento overnight.
An additional four firefighters are currently responding today, June 4.
The fire is suspected to be person-caused, according to the B.C. Wildfire interactive map.
Fire information officer Taylor MacDonald says there are currently no structures at risk.
