Florida declares state of emergency as Tropical Storm Isaac approaches

MIAMI – Florida’s governor has declared a state of emergency as Tropical Storm Isaac approaches the state.

Governor Rick Scott made the declaration Saturday during a media briefing.

The storm has caused concerns as it is on track to reach Florida as the Republican National Convention in Tampa begins early next week.

Scott says the thousands of delegates are being information on how to remain safe during a storm.

Tampa’s airport remains open.
