KAMLOOPS — Three local filmmakers, who have spent several months putting together a documentary telling Ryan Shtuka's story, will see their film released to the public next month.
The documentary titled Peaks & Valleys: The Search for Ryan Shtuka will be released on July 15 on Storyhive's YouTube channel and Telus Optik.
The film tells the story of Ryan Shtuka, 20, an Alberta man who was working and living at Sun Peaks Resort when he disappeared on Feb. 17, 2018 after leaving a house party on Burfield Drive in the village.
As part of the documentary, Shtuka's family is interviewed along with Kamloops Search and Rescue members and his roommate.
The local film crew consisted of Russell Walton, Jared Featherstone and Allan McVicar.
Over the next month, the film crew will be posting trailers to keep the public informed.
The project received a $50,000 grant from Storyhive to aid in producing the documentary.
