TORONTO – Who you gonna call, Bill Murray?
After years of shunning mobile devices, the “Ghostbusters” actor says he’s carrying his first smartphone — an old BlackBerry device.
The actor told Hollywood trade magazine Variety that he decided to carry the phone so he could communicate with his sons.
“They will not answer a phone call, but they will answer a text,” he said in a rare interview.
Unlike most actors, Murray has gone for years without an agent, choosing instead to funnell most of his phone calls through a 1-800 phone number.
But Murray says he still never uses Twitter and doesn’t like email much either.
“I mean I have done it, but I have no interest in it. The kids’ school stuff is all email, and they send thousands of emails. It’s complete overload,” he said.
BlackBerrys have been a popular device with some celebrities, including “Home Improvement” actor Tim Allen, who recently touted the company’s Passport device on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
