Kelowna Rockets to host Spokane in home opener

KELOWNA – The Western Hockey League season this fall will kick off for the Kelowna Rockets against the visiting Spokane Chiefs.

Kelowna will host the Spokane Chiefs at Prospera Place on Saturday, Sept. 21 as the team starts a season that will culminate in the spring of 2020 when the Rockets host the Memorial Cup championship.

The Rockets say in a media release the complete regular season schedule will be released Wednesday.

Rob Munro has a long history in journalism after starting an underground newspaper in Whitehorse called the Yukon Howl in 1980. He spent five years at the 100 Mile Free Press, starting in the darkroom, moving on to sports and news reporting before becoming the advertising manager.
