iN VIDEO: Just a cougar out for an early morning stroll through North Okanagan neighbourhood
COLDSTREAM – It was a sight that would give any early riser out for a morning stroll quite the scare.
The footage caught on surveillance camera by Becky Murray Rothlander shows a cougar calmly wandering down Ponderosa Way in Coldstream at around 4:30 a.m. today, July 10.
Although the sun is up and there'll no doubt soon be traffic on the street, the big cat seems unfazed by his suburban setting as it heads on down the street.
While cougar sightings aren't a particularly common sight B.C. Conservation officer Matt Richardson told iNFOnews.ca early this year you may not see them but cougars are all around us.
Richardson said that while people should be vigilant especially at the end of winter when cougars are hungry it's incredibly rare for a cougar to attack.
