ATLANTA – Dwyane Wade has been ruled out for Miami’s game at Atlanta due to a strained left hamstring.
Wade, a 10-time All-Star, played in the Heat’s first eight games this season, averaging 19.8 points, 6.4 assists and 3.5 rebounds. The guard was injured in Wednesday’s home loss to Indiana.
James Ennis got the start in Wade’s spot for Friday night’s game against the Hawks.
The 32-year-old Wade sat out nine games last season with a similar injury. He missed 28 games in total.
Coach Erik Spoelstra says the team isn’t sure how long Wade will be sidelined. Miami’s next game is Sunday at home against Milwaukee.
Wade helped the Heat win NBA titles in 2006, 2012 and ’13.
