Corus Entertainment reveals new slate of reality shows in development

TORONTO – Corus Entertainment is developing a new slate of original reality series, including several home-renovation and real-estate programs as well as a food competition show.

The series include “Mad House,” in which 10 couples participate in a renovation game in a bid to win “total mortgage freedom.”

In “More House for Your Buck,” a realtor and contractors help couples sell their current property, buy a new one and transform it into their dream home at no extra cost.

Meanwhile, “Born in a Barn” sees home owners transform farm buildings, churches, schoolhouses and other rural structures into dream homes.

A more urban setting is found in “A Penthouse View,” in which one realtor and one buyer hunt for luxury condominiums.

And in “Restaurant Revolution,” three different chefs and sous chefs compete in a three-course meal cookoff in a dining room set with a revolving kitchen.

The new series — which haven’t been green-lit yet — are intended to air on Corus’s women and family channels, including W Network, CMT, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada), CosmoTV and ABC Spark.

The shows join the company’s previously announced reality programs “Cash Mob” and “Mississippi Snake Grabbers.”
