Most actively traded companies on the TSX

TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (15,015.41, down 95.72 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down two cents, or 0.47 per cent, to $4.26 on 5.9 million shares.

Carlisle Goldfields Ltd. (TSX:CGJ). Miner. Up half-a-cent, or 12.50 per cent, to 4.5 cents on 3.39 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Down 20 cents, or 0.49 per cent, to $40.32 on 3.2 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Down 31 cents, or one per cent, to $30.63 on 3.1 million shares.

Southern Pacific Resource Corp. (TSX:STP). Oil and gas. Unchanged at two cents on 3.1 million shares.

Bankers Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:BNK). Oil and gas. Down 26 cents, or 5.53 per cent, to $4.44 on 2.9 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Onex Corp. (TSX:OCX). Private equity. Up 94 cents, or 1.47 per cent, to $65.10 on 125,310 shares. Toronto-based Onex is buying Swiss food packaging company SIG Combibloc Group AG for as much as $4.66 billion. Onex will pay $4.44 billion at the close of the transaction for SIG and up to an additional $217 million if the company meets financial targets in 2015 and 2016.

Hudson’s Bay Company (TSX:HBC). Retail. Up $1.62, or 8.02 per cent, to $21.82 on 2.3 million shares. The company’s shares ran ahead after announcing it was taking out a US$1.25 billion, 20-year mortgage for the ground floor of its Saks Fifth Avenue store in New York.
