Now you can check out Kamloops’ Riverside Park from the comfort of home
KAMLOOPS – You can get a new view of Riverside Park that you probably haven't seen before.
Tourism Kamloops installed a webcam that overlooks the park, giving you an opportunity to check out the park without having to leave home. The camera was installed earlier this summer, and a live feed to the Tourism Kamloops website was added on July 29.
Lisa White of Tourism Kamloops says the camera is used to showcase the events, weather and view of Riverside Park.
“The new high definition camera provides a live view of the stunning scenery and ideal weather that makes Kamloops such an attractive place to visit,” White says. “People can use the webcam to check the weather before travelling and it can help them plan what to pack.”
According to White, the webcam was installed in a popular spot for tourists visiting Kamloops. She says during Ribfest, the online webcam page saw a spike in viewers who wanted to check out the event before heading down.
“The location was chosen as the view showcases one of the signature views in Kamloops,” White says. “During large events, viewers can get a sense of the vibrancy of this space.”
