No rain in the weekend Okanagan forecast

PENTICTON – There’s lots of sun and no rain in the Okanagan forecast for the next few days.

Environment Canada says to expect sunny skies and a high of 29 Celsius in the Okanagan today, with winds becoming north at 20 km/h this afternoon.

Some clouds are expected to move in this evening, with winds becoming light and an overnight low of 15 C expected.

Penticton should reach a high of 30 C today.

The South Okanagan should also be clear of wildfire smoke. Environment Canada officially ended its air quality advisory today. 

Friday should see a mix of sun and cloud with winds becoming north at 20 km/h early in the afternoon.

Friday’s high should reach 26 C, with a low of 13 C.

Penticton’s high should reach 27 C on Friday.

Saturday is expected to see increasing cloudiness with a high of 25 C, but skies should clear overnight, with a low of 13 C expected.

The sun will return Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with highs of 28 C each day.

Overnight lows should dip to 12 C on Sunday and Monday, with a low of 13 C expected overnight Tuesday.

Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton normally see a high of 26 C and a low of 11 C this time of year.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. My interest in the profession is life long - from my earliest memories of grade school, I have enjoyed writing.
As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
