Former US goalkeeper Brad Friedel joining Fox as a soccer analyst

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Former U.S. goalkeeper Brad Friedel is joining Fox as a soccer analyst.

The 43-year-old Friedel is the oldest active player in the Premier League, where he’s now a backup for Tottenham Hotspur. He previously worked with Fox during the 2012 and 2013 UEFA Champions League finals.

The network said Tuesday that Friedel will serve as an analyst on games and in the studio for its soccer properties, including next summer’s Women’s World Cup.

Friedel played in three World Cups for the U.S., helping lead the Americans to the quarterfinals in 2002. He still holds the Premier League record for most consecutive appearances with 310.
