Saints’ owner, ex-RB McAllister and longtime broadcaster Henderson honoured by Saints HOF

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame this weekend is honouring all-time leading rusher Deuce McAllister, club owner Tom Benson and longtime radio play-by-play announcer Jim Henderson.

McAllister and Benson are the 2012 inductees, while Henderson is receiving the Joe Gemelli Fleur de Lis award for his long record of off-the-field contributions to the franchise.

McAllister, whose club records include touchdowns scored, says he will always consider his induction a shared honour with his former teammates and the organization.

Benson says winning the championship he promised when he bought the team in 1985 took longer than he hoped, but he’s gratified to have won a Super Bowl and expects more.

Henderson says his game-day broadcasting gig afforded him great memories, and was not work, but a privilege.
