PENTICTON – Phase two of the David E. Kampe Tower project begins this month at Penticton Regional Hospital as renovations to the emergency department get underway.
Pharmacy and material stores departments will also be part of phase two renovations, which will see the emergency department expanded and modernized, according to an Interior Health Authority media release. The renovations will be taking place in multiple phases as the department remains open for the duration of the project.
Patients requiring emergency services are advised to access the emergency department using the regular emergency entrance off Carmi Avenue, with all other patients to use the main entrance for the David E. Kampe tower off Government Street, Interior Health says. Maternity patients are advised to use the emergency department entrance.
There will be increased construction activity in the emergency department, and travel routes for patients within the department may be adjusted as work continues.
Phase two renovations are expected to take two years with a completion date set for the fall of 2021.
