Chip Wilson quits Lululemon board, says he’ll help wife, son’s new venture

VANCOUVER – The founder of Lululemon Athletica Inc. (Nasdaq:LULU) has resigned from the clothing company’s board of directors, saying he has accomplished what he set out to do there. Dennis (Chip) Wilson founded Lululemon in 1998 in Vancouver and the company now is an international brand, with more than 250 stores. However, some of Wilson’s televised comments about Lululemon’s customers were seen as a major contribution to a public relations crisis after some Luon pants were discovered to be too sheer. Wilson says he’ll now have more opportunity to work with his wife and son on a new business.
