NEW YORK, N.Y. – Better call “Saul” a promising new hit.
Sunday’s premiere of “Better Call Saul” was seen by 6.9 million viewers, according to the Nielsen ratings company. AMC network is calling this the biggest series premiere in cable history.
The much-anticipated drama is a prequel to the AMC hit “Breaking Bad,” whose shifty lawyer played by supporting actor Bob Odenkirk has now moved into the central role.
“Saul” had help with its robust tune-in. In the preceding hour, “The Walking Dead” returned for the second half of its fifth season with an enormous audience of 15.6 million viewers.
The second episode of “Better Call Saul” airs Monday at 10 p.m. EST.
