B.C. man charged after attacks on three women in Langley and Surrey: RCMP

LANGLEY, B.C. – A Langley, B.C., man has been charged after physical and sexual assaults on multiple women.

RCMP say 22-two-year-old Kevin Sharp is facing five counts after three separate investigations.

Police say they began investigating last October, when a man assaulted a sex worker in his vehicle in Langley.

“He then pushed her out of his car an fled, nearly striking her with the vehicle,” said Cpl. Holly Marks, adding another woman was attacked and robbed in Surrey days later.

Marks said the two incidents were similar to an event last May, when a man forcibly entered a woman’s home in Langley.

“The resident awoke in the middle of the night and opened her sliding glass door to let her cat in when she was grabbed by her neck and forced into her bedroom,” Marks said.

The suspect physically and sexually assaulted the woman and stole some items before fleeing, she said.

Police say Sharp’s DNA from that attack was linked to the first assault last fall.

Sharp has been charged with break and enter, two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, theft of a motor vehicle and assault causing bodily harm.

He remains in custody and is expected to appear in provincial court in Surrey on June 8.
