Burgers served with kimchee, spiced yogurt at Halifax food festival

HALIFAX – More than 60 restaurants are participating in the third annual Halifax Burger Week, which runs March 19 to 25.

The inventive variations-on-a-theme include a fried Provolone and garlic chili burger at Canvas Resto Lounge ($15) and a tandoori and chorizo burger served with jalapeno aioli, spiced yogurt dressing and pepper jack cheese at Auction House restaurant ($5).

Here are some other stomach-filling offerings that will be served around town: a 15-centimetre-long spiced lamb-loaf burger ($16, Seasons by Atlantica), a molé chicken burger ($20, Fiasco Restaurant), a blackened miso salmon burger ($15, McKelvie’s) and a Korean BBQ burger served with kimchee and miso mayo ($10, the Armview).

Restaurants make donations with each burger sold to the Feed Nova Scotia charity.

The event website, http://burgerweek.co, includes a map with restaurant locations.
