The Kickoff Classic

IWC’s 10th season will begin with our annual Kickoff Classic Poetry Slam! 8 poets will compete in a 2-round slam downtown at beautiful Stuart Park as part of BC Culture Days. This totally free event had almost 200 people there last year, so get there early to get a seat!7:00PM – 9:00PMDid we mention it’s free! (Yes. We did. Above. (Free!))This event is sponsored by the City of Kelowna. We thank them for their generous contribution. The space is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms, are the public, city provided bathrooms around the corner from Stuart Park. They are two single-stall washrooms, that are unfortunately gendered. We respectfully acknowledge that we live and work in the unceded, ancestral territory of the Syilx people. It is a privilege to be able to put on events as uninvited guests on their land.
