Kelowna Arts Council is proud to partner with The Marmalade Cat Cafe to bring you Live Music every Friday! 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm.This week we are pleased to feature James Hay.James Hay is a Kelowna based electric & acoustic blues/roots rock guitarist and singer songwriter. Originally from the Northern B.C. town of Smithers James and his wife Betty Goodacre relocated to the Okanagan in 2013. The couple now perform as a duo and with their full four-piece modern vintage,smooth blues, roots and soul band Black Cat Soul. James also does solo acoustic performances and you can catch him performing around the valley with his three-piece blues band The James Hay Trio.James has paid his dues working with numerous blues acts over the last 30 years. Non Prophet Society, The Ole Johnson Blues Band, Joe L’Orsa’s Northwest Boogie, Joe Marvici and the Mudcats, Cosmic Charlie a.k.a. The Charles Graham Band, Rachelle Van Zanten, Jack De Keyser, The Kathy Frank Band, Sherman Doucette, and Poppa Dawg to name a few.After decades working as a sideman and supporting artist James has decided to put his energy into fronting his own bands and recording more of his original blues material in the years to come.Please stop by – the kitchen will be open, you can order your beverages and your supper/snacks from the café’s great selection of tasty offerings, and settle in to enjoy the show!There is no greater gift to give performers than to simply sit and listen.
