Coldest Night of the Year Kelowna

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk that takes place in over 145 communities across the country. By walking at dusk during a cold winter’s night, you’ll feel a hint of the challenge faced by those experiencing homelessness during the winter months. HOW TO SIGN UP? The money raised at this years walk will help the Metro Community finish the outdoor courtyard adjacent to Metro Central. Metro Central is a coffee shop / warming centre that welcomes the most vulnerable in our community to gather year-round. Hope has an address! The funds also help us to provide nourishing breakfasts, coffee, laundry services, computers, free clothing, BBQS in the Summer and other basic necessities that help create a sense of community, safety and belonging at Metro Central.WHO? Everyone is welcome! CNOY is family-friendly. Walkers range in age from toddlers (with parents of course) to active seniors.REGISTRATION- Kids 10 and under: No fee- Youth 11-17: Fundraise $75, or pay reg fee ($25)- Adults 18+: Fundraise $150, or pay reg fee ($25)- Reg Fee: The reg fee increases from $25 to $40 on Saturday, February 15, the last week of the event.SCHEDULE4 PM Registration opens5 PM Opening Ceremony5:15 PM – Walk begins6 PM – Meal service begins8 PM – Route closes, live music by the “Daves of our Lives”*From 6-8 PM a warm, light meal will be served to all walkers and volunteers.
