Nearly 70 million Americans have a sleep disorder. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder, with 30% of adults experiencing short-term insomnia. About 10% of people have long-lasting insomnia. Almost 40% of people report accidentally falling asleep during the day.Insomnia, or sleeplessness, is one sleep disorder in which people have trouble sleeping. You may have difficulty falling asleep, or staying asleep as long as desired.
