In this introductory class to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture, participants will learn a variety of vocabulary as well as basic grammar and syntax of this gestural and dynamic language. Topics will include introductions, descriptions of family and pets, making plans with friends, and expression of favourite things. Our goal it to ensure that participants have the ability to make acquaintances, and hopefully friends, with members of the Deaf Community. Students will also learn about and discuss aspects of Deaf Culture and accessibility.
