KELOWNA, British Columbia – The public is invited to attend the Kelowna Firefighters’Charitable Society’s 9/11 Ceremony and Climb event presented by Sutters Restoration onSeptember 11th at 11:00 a.m at Sutherland Park. First Responders honour those who losttheir lives on September 11 and everyday since, by having a 9/11 ceremony followed bywalking up Knox mountain road(3.5 km), with their Forestry Firefighting gear on. Allproceeds go to the Kelowna Firefighters’ Charitable Society.WHAT: The Kelowna 9/11 Stair ClimbWHO: Derek Liebel, Firefighter and Staci Young, President, Kelowna Firefighters’ CharitableSocietyWHEN: Sunday, September 11, 2023 | 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.WHERE: Sutherland park and Knox Mountain (map),Parking located on Knox Mountain Drive or Disc golf parking lots.WHY: Come watch a full honour guard and pipes and drum ceremony at Sutherland Parkfollowed by walking up Knox Mountain with First Responders. This event will be a space toshow respect to the first responders who lost their lives at the tower attacks and forestfirefighters who lost their lives this year.
