Brown Bag Lecture Series presents Antelope Brush

Antelopebrush is a fascinating icon of the Okanagan Valley. Found in isolated pockets from the US border up to Vernon, this shrub is host to rare butterflies, has a complex relationship with seed-eating rodents, and is fire-dependent and fire-sensitive at the same time. A plant with multiple Indigenous cultural uses, antelopebrush currently faces threats from urban and agricultural development.
This illustrated talk will give Brown Bag participants a summary understanding of antelopebrush: how to identify it, where it is found, and its complex ecological relationships.
