March 23, 2024 – 3-7 pm at the 50+ Centre, 8th & Beach Ave.
Free Coffee, Tea, & Goodies all day & Popcorn & Movie!
Schedule for the Day
3:00-4:00pm – Children’s Activities – Make a craft and helpto create the Watershed Banner!
4:00-4:30pm – Historic stories of Peachland with localhistorian Richard Smith
4:30-5:00pm – Join syilx culture keeper, Cori Derricksonin indigenous story telling including a liveinteractive play ‘’The Four Food Chiefs’’
5:00-5:30pm – Test your watershed knowledge in a fun quizwith PWPA Watershed Watcher Barb Haley
5:30-6:00pm – Retired Chief Patrick Michell, of the KanakaBar Indian Band, & current Rebuild Directorfor the Lytton First Nation, will share oncommunity recovery, rebuild and emergencypreparedness following the 2021 Lytton fire.
6:00-6:10pm – Territorial Welcome Delphine Derrickson, syilxElder
6:10-6:20pm – Interview with Film Maker, Jeremy Williamsand UBC Forestry Hydrologist, Dr. Younes Alila
6:20-6:40pm – Watch the movie ‘Come Hell or High Water’
6:40-7:00pm – Presentation and Q&A Panel discussionfeaturing wildfire ecologist, Dr. Lori Daniels,from UBC Forestry, Patrick Michell & localknowledge keepers
