
Guns, drugs and cash seized during Kamloops traffic stop
An RCMP officer spotted a car with no front license plate last week in Kamloops so pulled over and discovered the driver had an ’N’ licence.
But that was just the beginning.
There were multiple passengers in the black car when it was pulled over on Fleetwood Avenue at approximately 2:10 pm. Friday, Feb. 14, according to an RCMP media release, and one of the passengers was arrested for obstruction.
“As backup officers arrived to assist, a number of items were located and seized by police, including a loaded handgun, loaded long-gun, cash, drugs, ammunition and other items,” Kamloops RCMP media liaison Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
Turns out the passenger arrested for obstruction was wanted on a warrant out of Merritt.
Julian Noah Robinson, 24, from Quilchena, B.C. faces six charges including obstruction, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, firearm offences and failure to comply with a court order, RCMP said.
The driver was arrested and later released charged with driving contrary to conditions and restrictions, improper display of a licence plates and driving while impaired by drugs. They were give a 24-hour driving prohibition and the car was impounded.
Anyone who witnessed the traffic stop, or has information that may be related to the investigation, is asked to Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2025-4198.
