iN VIDEO: Kelowna residents make giant Canadian flag on frozen lake
An acre-sized Canadian flag on a frozen lake in Kelowna has generated some buzz over the weekend.
A group of about 12 residents from Holiday Park RV Resort armed with shovels carved a ginormous flag on Ellison Lake, colloquially known as Duck Lake, near the Kelowna airport and Stuart Sutton posted a video about their patriotic efforts on Feb. 13.
Locals posted their support for the group’s efforts online and took pictures on the hillside admiring the glorious flag with “proud and free” written above it.
The snow art piece was created for Flag Day on Feb. 15.
The flag is still etched in the snow and should visible from the air as planes land at the airport.
