Humorist, educator Art Napoleon to host holistic economy presentation in Penticton

The Okanagan Nation Alliance is hosting a presentation on the holistic economy by well known APTN host Art Napoleon next month.

Napoleon is a host, humorist and educator, according to Keynote Speakers of Canada. He hosts and co-produces APTN's Moosemeat & Marmalade show, an international series that showcases Indigenous foods, knowledge and outdoor cooking techniques.

Napoleon grew up in the boreal forests and mountains of northeastern British Columbia, and is known as a cultural educator and language teacher. He has Masters degree in Language Revitalization from the University of Victoria.

Napoleon will discuss how the holistic economy can be implemented within families and communities.

A holistic economy emphasizes the interconnectedness of everyone and the planet, recognizing that damage to any part could end up harming every other part, according to a report in The Guardian.

The presentation, which is open to Sylix Nation members, communities and aboriginal community partners, takes place on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeside and Conference Centre in Penticton. The event is free, with a lunch provided.
