Canadian comedian Rick Mercer to address UBCO’s graduating class

A beloved Canadian comedian and former host of The Rick Mercer Report will be offering his advice to graduates at UBC and UBC Okanagan.

A virtual ceremony will be held June 17 for UBCO graduates, which includes an address from Rick Mercer himself.

Mercer, known for his rants and hilarious segments on CBC’s The Rick Mercer report, was a 2010 UBC honorary degree recipient, according to UBC’s website.

Find a livestream of the ceremony through UBCO’s website on June 17 or watch through YouTube, Facebook or Panopto, a platform that is accessible from many countries. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

In 2019, Mercer spent time in Kelowna as the host for the Just for Laughs Comedy Night in Canada tour.
