VICTIM IDENTIFIED
KELOWNA – The RCMP Serious Crime Unit needs more information about the last hours of the life of Christopher Ausman’s, 32.
His body was found on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Highway 33 in Rutland at 2:06 a.m. Saturday.
Police aren’t saying the Kelowna man was murdered. They will only say that his death is suspicious.
A clerk at the nearby Subway heard that he had been stabbed. Given the amount of blood at the crime scene that may have been the case. The RCMP haven’t released Ausman’s cause of death.
A memorial page has been created on Facebook and Ausman's family and friends have been sharing pictures and memories. According to Facebook, he is survived by a young daughter.
Police want anyone with information about the case, or anyone who had been in contact with Ausman during the evening of Friday, Jan. 24 or the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 25, to call the Kelowna RCMP Tip Line at 250-470-6236.
To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leave a tip online, or text your tip to CRIMES (27637) ktown.
