RCMP nab obvious thieves

KAMLOOPS – A pair of Chilliwack thieves were caught trying to make their getaway with a freshly stolen Utility Terrain Vehicle and trailer in the early morning hours Sunday.

RCMP officers spotted the suspicious looking pair driving the UTV towing a trailer, on Highway 5 at Halston Avenue at around 3 a.m.

A 41-year-old Chilliwack man and his 20-year-old nephew have been arrested and face charges of possession of stolen property.

In separate incidents, Kamloops RCMP are investigating a pair of smash and grabs at businesses in the city overnight.

The thieves smashed through glass doors at the stores.

No arrests have been made in the break-and-enters.
