IT’S OFFICIAL: Liberal Stephen Fuhr is Kelowna’s next MP

After a delay in counting the votes from one of the Kelowna riding’s polling stations the final results are in and the Liberals have taken the seat.

Liberal Stephen Fuhr pulled ahead of incumbent Tracy Gray.

This morning the two leading candidates were separated by just 170 votes and with the final tally, Fuhr won by 1,077.

Fuhr represented Kelowna from 2015 to 2019 until Gray ousted him. This election was a rematch and Fuhr came out on top.

Gray conceded in a post to social media.

“It has been an honour to serve as the Member of Parliament for Kelowna-Lake Country since 2019 and to stand up for issues important to people in our community in Ottawa and to be engaged and involved in our community. I would like to congratulate MP-elect Fuhr,” Gray posted.

NDP candidate Trevor McAleese had less than 4% of the vote and Green Party candidate had 1%.
