News anchor Olivia Jaquith did her three-hour morning shift for an Albany, New York TV station after her contractions began and her water broke, keeping viewers updated about the coming birth of her first baby.
“We do have some breaking news this morning, literally,” her co-anchor Julia Dunn said.
Jaquith had the option of going home, but decided to pass the time at her job rather than, as she put it, nervously wait around at the hospital.
Her baby boy, Quincy, was born on Thursday.
