Kamloops man charged with murder in shooting death of Chaneill Satow
A Kamloops man has been charged with second degree murder two years after a woman was shot and killed.
Austin Alexander Neil Eyres was charged with the second degree murder of Chaneill Satow today, May 28, according to an RCMP media release.
Officers were called to the 800-block of Valhalla Drive on May 21, 2023 where Satow had been shot. She was taken to hospital and kept on life support for five days until she died. That’s when the case became a homicide investigation.

Eyres has been charged and is currently in custody on an unrelated matter.
“This investigation was a priority for the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit who worked diligently to advance the case for the past two years and present it to Crown Counsel for charge assessment. This charge is the culmination of a thorough investigation and the resources that were allocated to it,” Kamloops RCMP officer in charge Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release.
Satow was 39 years old when she was shot in the townhouse in Brocklehurst. Police raided a home on Cornwall Street as part of the investigation on May 23, 2023.
Since the case is before the court, Kamloops RCMP said it isn’t revealing any more information about it.
